Handwritten letter long-distance friendship

An honest letter across oceans — about long distance friendship

Girl!

It was so good to see you again after ten months. Nothing’s changed between us — same humor, same chaotic conversations, same raw reactions. Love that.

First of all, I just want to say: I love you. For who you are and what you are. You mean the world to me.
And maybe — just maybe — the way you react to things is one of the most valuable traits you have. Not just to me, but to the people around you. Think about that.
You make me feel safe, strong, happy and just… comfortable. Every single time we talk or hang out. But you also make me reflect on stuff. The deeper, messier stuff. And I’m grateful for that.

Also, it probably helps that you’re the best mojito-on-the-beach drinking partner ever.

Okay, all the emotional mush wrapped up now. Let’s move on to the serious stuff 😏

I love this whole idea of writing letters to each other. Raw, real, honest — with a generous dose of humor.
We’ve already shared so many stories, survived so much crap (including evil ex-sisters-in-law — this is nothing in comparison), so this? This is just another fun chapter.

By the way… what even was that goodbye?
A crying mini-me, me forgetting half my stuff — chaotic, rushed, heads full of 101 things. In other words: totally us.
(Also: I stopped writing the letter because… well, life happened.)

We’re back in the Carolinas now. Back home. And yes, it took me a while to finish this letter — as you probably noticed.
Like everyone else, we were thrown straight back into the chaos: kids back to school, husband back to work, and me? Well, my routine kicked in real quick 😅😅

But let’s talk about you.
You told me you had a bit of a mental breakdown — and I hate that I wasn’t there to walk with you, or just sit next to you and listen to the madness in your head.

I know life’s been a little too much lately. And I see how hard you’re working to find your way back to you.
Please don’t forget — even though I’m on the other side of the world, I’m still here. Always.
Middle of the night, random hour of the day — I’m one message away.

Tell me what’s on your mind. Write it down. You might be surprised at how much it helps to just get it out — even anonymously.
I know it helped me, back when I used to share all my “crazy, twisted” stories with you.

So here’s the deal — since you inspired me to finally start writing them all down (and trust me, they could fill books), you’ll start getting stories from me.
Read them whenever you want. Reply if you feel like it. Or don’t. Totally fine either way.

Love you always.
 Me x
